A Career In Policing

"More than just a job"

You could be wearing this with pride!

After successfully completing the study requirements of the first component of the Diploma of Policing Practice, as well as satisfying the professional suitability assessment for the NSW Police, you could be eligible for attestation as a Probationary Constable and can earn up to $42,000pa. You then study the second component of the Diploma by distance education, while working full-time. Upon successful completion of the Diploma, you will become eligible for confirmation as a Constable. We think you'll agree that policing offers far more than just a job.

As a police practitioner you may encounter and are expected to deal with a wide range of occurrences from noise complaints, accidents and natural disasters to break and enter offences, domestic violence, assaults and armed hold-ups.

Various career opportunities exist including water policing, highway patrol, community policing, investigations, intelligence, education, specialist and technical operations and leadership & management. Entry to all the specialist fields is competitive, so give yourself the best chance you can, with a qualification through CSU.
