CSU's main campuses are located at
Albury-Wodonga, Bathurst, Dubbo and Wagga Wagga with centres at Broken Hill, Canberra,
Goulburn, Morpeth, Manly and the central business district of Sydney.
The
School of Policing Studies is the largest School in the Faculty of Arts of Charles Sturt University and caters for more students than any
other department of the University. With over 40 staff members and
more that ten per cent of the University's students the School is
the largest provider of tertiary police education in Australia. We
are co-located with NSW Police Service colleagues at the NSW Police
College, Goulburn though faculty also work from offices in Sydney,
Westmead, Albury and Canberra.
The
School was set up under a collaborative arrangement with the NSW Police Service to jointly provide the Constable Education Programme for the
Police Service. Many of the staff are either former police officers
or are serving officers under secondment to the School. This gives
the School a strong practical focus to the teaching at Goulburn, and
a professional focus to research
activities.

Goulburn,
one of Australia's oldest inland cities, is situated on the Southern
Tablelands at the confluence of the Mulwaree and Wollondilly Rivers. It
is 194 km south-west of Sydney via the Hume Freeway and 640 m above
sea-level with a current population of 30, 000 people. Goulburn is also home to the NSW Police Collage which occupies
48 hectares within the city.Goulburn is the commercial centre of a major pastoral and
agricultural area. The 'Big Merino', on one of the main arteries,
testifies to the long-standing importance of wool-growing in the area.
Indeed the city is one of NSW's major stock and wool-marketing centres.
Goulburn is also a major manufacturing base and an important rail centre. Other income is derived from engineering, warehousing and
distribution, government agencies, retailing, meat processing and
tourism, and the presents of the NSW Police Collage and University.
