In April last year a 53 year old man was conducting horse
riding lessons for very young children. He ingratiated himself
with their families and then sexually assaulted the children in
their home or at the training sessions. Serious sexual assault
offences were committed upon children under the age of ten and
resulted in the man being charged with 30 offences. He was
sentenced to three years and six months imprisonment.
Last year on September 4, a man was sentenced in Newcastle to
10 years jail after his victims reported him to Operation Paradox
in 1996. For ten years this man preyed on his stepdaughters. He
was found guilty of carnal knowledge and buggery. The court was
told he began molesting the girls when they were aged between 6
and 15.
