Surveyor, Registered Valuer.
Responsible for the cost effective provision of resources which
support the operational policing services.
The support services comprise:
- Financial Services
- Information Technology Services
- Court & Legal Services
- Infrastructure & Processing Services - which includes
Fleet Management Services, Property Services, Purchasing &
Supply, Infringement Processing Bureau, Firearms & Security
Industry Registries and Information Process Services.
Des Mooney has held senior positions in both the private and
public sectors. He was a senior partner of Punch, Mooney &
Associates from 1980-83 as well as being a Director Land Design Pty
Ltd and owner/manager of the All Purpose Map Centre. In 1984, he
joined the Department of Lands and has held the positions of
Regional Manager, Manager of Management Improvement and Manager of
the Crown Lands Information Project. In 1988, he joined the
Department of Administrative Services as Manager of Management &
Information. Rejoining the Department of Lands in 1989 as General
Manager of the Land Information Centre, he was instrumental in
transforming the Centre form a traditional public sector
organisation to an innovative, commercially competitive business
unit. He has acted as Surveyor General of NSW on many occasions
during this time. He is a registered surveyor and a registered
valuer.
